My Story

We've loved every minute of our journey so far!

An Idea is Born

Bearwood Physiotherapy was founded to provide high-quality patient-centred care for a breadth of injuries and illness.

Our focus is towards truly getting to know what's important to our patients. Individualising each person's treatment enabling you to reach your goals.

We're keen to help people live happier, healthier and more active lifestyles and understanding our bodies, why we get injuries and how we heal is vital.

At Bearwood Physiotherapy, we want to share our knowledge and skills to provide you with a ready-to use "tool-kit" to help you manage your condition.

Gina Monk, MCSP

After graduating from Oxford Brookes University, where I trained at the John Radcliffe Hospital, I became a Charted Physiotherapist and joined my local NHS Trust and worked throughout Berkshire. During this time, I continued to develop my clinical knowledge and skills in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy. I then expanded my career into the field of Oncology, where I became a Specialist MSK Oncology Physiotherapist.

Since leaving the NHS and developing my career further, I have built my own practice. With the aim of providing input to people throughout the entirety of their injury or illness. Bearwood Physiotherapy offers assessments and treatments for muscle, joint and sporting injuries;  including neck, back, shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee and ankle problems.

Alongside this, I develop a Specialist Oncology/Cancer Service to ensure patients had access to therapies throughout the entire process of their cancer diagnosis, treatment and recovery phases.

Being able to work with a breadth of conditions is a privilege and I've learnt overtime that we can make small changes to our daily lives to live a happier and healthier lifestyle that helps minimise the risk of ill-health and injury.

I am registered member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (MCSP), Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (AACP) and the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Oncology and Palliative Care (ACPOPC).
